Artist Valeria Velasco has been recognized as Young Master for the class of 2024

This morning, TCA Commissioners approved the 2024 class of Young Masters! Young Masters is a highly competitive grant program that provides exemplary art students in grades 8-11 with the financial help they need to pursue advanced study in their chosen art form before college. The 2024 class of 15 Young Masters will be awarded grants of $5,000 per year to further their studies in their chosen arts disciplines. Students are eligible to receive the grant for two years. Funding is graciously provided by our partners at the Texas Cultural Trust.

Sleeping Beauty is the magical, romantic tale of the beautiful Princess Aurora who has been put under a sleeping spell by the evil fairy Carabosse. The only thing that can awaken the princess from her slumber is a kiss from her one true love, the handsome prince.

Sleeping Beauty is a collaboration between CBSA and American Ballet Theatre Principal Dancers Skylar Brandt and Herman Cornejo. CBSA’s production of this children’s classic will feature a talented cast ranging in age from 3 to 19. Performers will include internationally acclaimed classical dancers, gymnasts, actors, vocalists, gifted special needs artists, and other exceptional young people. Told through dance, spectacular digital and physical scenery, live music, grand special effects, and interactive elements, CBSA’s Sleeping Beauty will expose audience members of all ages to an enchanting world where love conquers all.
