CBSA Auditions for

The Polar Express

August 22, 2025!

The Children's Ballet of San Antonio is committed to keeping the tradition of the holiday season alive! CBSA invites Dancers, Gymnasts, Actors and Performing Artists ages 8 to 19 to audition for The Polar Express! CBSA auditions are open to performing artists from all over San Antonio and more than 30 surrounding areas. Artists at all experience levels are encouraged to audition.

CBSA’s The Polar Express will be presented at the Empire Theatre on December 5-7, 2025. All artists will be cast in roles that showcase and highlight their individual talents and strengths. Artists will also have the opportunity to work with fantastic local choreographers!

Artists are required to register to secure their audition spot. Auditions are free. 

Why should your dancer join CBSA?

CBSA productions feature a cast entirely made up of children ages 8 to 19! Therefore, we are able to offer each artist unparalleled opportunities to perform and to train as they work with exceptional local choreographers and directors in rehearsal. Each dancer receives individual attention from our rehearsal directors and has the opportunity to dance in highlighted and lead roles!

Audition & Poduction Details

In-Person Auditions:

Friday, August 22, 2025

6PM - 7PM: Acting/Vocal Auditions (Ages 8-12)

7PM-8PM: Dance Auditions (All)

8PM-9PM: Acting/Vocal Auditions (Ages 13+)

*You must participate in all aspects of the auditions to be considered for a role in The Polar Express

Audition dress code is as follows: 

Attire - 

Girls: black leotard, black tights, black jazz shoes AND tap shoes, if you have them.

Boys: black shirt, black jazz pants or sweatpants, black jazz shoes AND tap shoes, if you have them (no baggy clothes please).

All rehearsals will be held on Saturdays at DCSA (subject to change) with the final production being held at the Empire Theatre. If you do not already have an account with CBSA, you will need to create one after clicking on the registration link below. Once you have created or logged in to your account, please select register for classes from the parent portal. Please register for the audition time that corresponds to your dancers age under the “Polar Express 2025 Auditions” tab.


** If you are unable to attend our September 19 audition, but would still like to participate, please fill out the online registration form and indicate the reason for your absence. We will try to arrange another audition time for individual artists on a case by case basis.


 

 IN ORDER TO COMPLETE REGISTRATION EACH APPLICANT MUST SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING:

  • Online Audition Application Form (Including Liability Waivers) found by completing the online registration.

It is recommended that intermediate and advanced Dancers and Gymnasts warm-up before their audition time.
