🚂 Auditions Open: The Polar Express 2026
The Children's Ballet of San Antonio (CBSA) is officially holding auditions for our spectacular holiday production of The Polar Express performing live at the historic Empire Theatre!
We invite talented dancers, gymnasts, actors, and performing artists ages 8 to 19 from San Antonio and over 30 surrounding areas to audition. Whether your child is an experienced performer or stepping onto the stage for the first time, CBSA provides an inclusive environment where every artist is cast in a role that highlights their unique strengths and talents.

In-Person Audition Date: Friday, August 28, 2026
Weekly Rehearsals: Friday evenings (5:30 PM – 8:30 PM) starting September 2026
Tentative Tech Week: November 29 – December 3, 2026
Performance Dates: December 4–6, 2026

Audition Process & Video Alternative
📍 In-Person Auditions: Friday, August 28, 2026
Log into or create your account in the Parent Portal, navigate to the Polar Express 2026 Auditions tab, and register for the specific time slot that matches your child's age.
💡 Pro-Tip: Intermediate and advanced performers are highly recommended to arrive early and warm up entirely prior to their scheduled audition block.

If you are unable to attend the live auditions on Friday, August 28, but still want to participate, you can submit a digital audition!
Complete the online registration form via the portal and indicate the reason for your absence.
Record your child's audition and email the video link to info@childrensballetofsanantonio.org.

Audition dress code is as follows:
Girls: black leotard, black tights, black jazz shoes AND tap shoes, if you have them.
Boys: black shirt, black jazz pants or sweatpants, black jazz shoes AND tap shoes, if you have them (no baggy clothes please).
Rehearsal Commitment & Schedule
When: Held every Friday evening from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM beginning in September.
Attendance: Certain character groups are called each week. Detailed schedules are released on the Parent Portal every Monday prior to the Friday rehearsal so your family can plan ahead.
How to Register (Step-by-Step)
To secure your child's free audition spot, the application must be completed through the online portal prior to arrival.
Select Classes: Choose "Register for Classes" from the main navigation menu.
Choose Tab: Click on the Polar Express 2026 Auditions tab.
Select Age Group: Register for the time slot corresponding to your child's age.
Submit Waivers: Complete the Online Audition Application Form and digitally sign the required liability waivers.
